Who We Are

Our Mission

The IJEANA INSTITUTE is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the way youth navigate through the foster care system in America, mentoring at-risk youth, and aiding felons in reintegrating back into society.

HOW WE WERE FOUNDED

This organization was founded by Pastor Kelly Allen Green, whose dream was to extend the love, morals, and values to others that were instilled in him by his adopted parents, Hersey and Iva Jean Green.

His experience growing up in, and later, working in the foster care system inspired him to want to help children in foster care without having to become a foster parent himself. And his experience as a pastor inspired him to want to help redeem the lives of felons.

His belief is that everyone, no matter how rough their life began, or what their current circumstances are, is redeemable.

HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Our main programs are the Kelly Green Mentorship Program, Bike-A-Thon Program, Superhero Box Program, and our Hersey & Iva Green Scholarship, which is a college scholarship available for youth aging out of the foster care program, and felons who have been accepted into institutions of higher learning.

But with the help of our passionate volunteers and the support of our generous donors, we strive to give each recipient a brighter future.

Board of Directors

The IJEANA INSTITUTE is comprised of humanitarians, advocates, artists, and visionaries who are committed to changing the world for the better. Our team of passionate volunteers and staff continue to transform the lives of those in need of our care. We believe that they deserve dignity, respect, and support.
